Love is more than a word. Love is an action.
— Roy Godwin
As a person who believes in showing who and what is important to me in my life through actions, sometimes I forget to say the words that convey the same thing. This is especially ironic as I fancy myself a writer, whose medium is words, whether written or spoken. I am intentional and deliberate in their use, to give emphasis and context to my actions when sometimes there might be ambiguity in meaning. I use these phrases sparingly because to me, it is so important that my words match my actions as a foundation of trust and confidence. What I say is what I mean. But I’ve become aware that they are often needed and I should use them more. With my children. With my family. With my friends. With people I meet everyday. Because at the end of the day, I hope to make you feel in your heart and soul what is true.
I see you.
I appreciate you.
I am grateful for you.
I want you.
I need you.
I respect you.
I got you.
I am here for you.
I value you.
I love you.
